HILLVIEW RESIDENCE

Pickering, Ontario

Hillview is a 4,200 sq.ft. five-bedroom house designed on a 60-ft corner lot. Due to setback requirements for corner lots only 30ft of frontage was left for the house. The owners, a multigenerational family, needed five bedrooms and two living spaces while the context of the neighborhood called for a house that blended in without appearing to be too large.

The solution was a three-story house that was made to look like two stories by using dormers intelligently in order to mask the appearance of a monster house. The house is finished in the English Manor style but with darker colors to give it a contemporary look.
